Chandler Walker is a Co-owner and Head Coach here at StoneAgeFuel School of Fitness. He specializes in Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, athletic performance for adults and youth, running endurance and making people feel good about themselves by instilling a newfound sense of confidence.

“I’m passionate about helping our athletes renew and reshape their lives by being the mentor and guiding hand they need in their lives. It’s especially amazing to work with kids and to help them develop a lifelong love of fitness.”

Coach Chandler’s athletic background comes from a wide range of sports and activities. In high school, he was involved in football, where he and his team won the Nevada State Championship finishing with an impressive undefeated season. He was awarded All-Conference and All-State defensive end with 18 sacks in a single season. He was also involved in baseball where he and his team were conference champions and Chandler was the go-to guy when the need for speed was apparent. Coach Chandler also ran track and field high hurdles, placing 4th place at the Nevada State Championships for the 300m intermediate hurdles. After high school Chandler, became involved in Nevada Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Charles Gracie and currently holds a blue belt.

Chandler found CrossFit in 2008 and has become a very well-rounded athlete, but more importantly gaining a sense of community and a sense of purpose. Chandler found a love in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting like nothing he had ever experienced and made many lifelong friends through his training.

This completely altered his views on life and sent him on a life of service to those who were willing to listen to his views on fitness and health.

Chandler also found a love in Gymnastics and became obsessed with perfection in the art, from handstands to levers with the help of Coach Steph, of course. Finally, Chandler is a National level Olympic Weightlifter and recently competed in the 2014 USA Weightlifting National Championships and the 2015 USA Weightlifting American Open in the 69kg category.

In continuing his education, Coach Chandler has a Bachelors degree in Biology with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Nevada Reno allowing him to focus on the health, nutrition and disease prevention aspects of this critical science. This also gives him the unique ability to analyze “claims” made by supplement companies and food producers. With this, Chandler is able to coach his athletes in whole health practices and dispel many nutrition and fitness related myths.
