The snatch from the power position is an incredibly important position to develop in order to allow the athlete to fully utilize their power and full potential in the lifts.

To perform the snatch from the power position do the following:

-Start by holding the bar in the snatch grip with the knuckles facing the floor
-Initiate the movement by sitting slightly with the chest up and puffed out. Make sure the shoulders are in line with the heels
-The drive phase should he straight up. Avoid driving the chest forward and using a swing motion to drive the bar up. The movement should be straight up and straight down
-At the point of full extension pull the bar up and punch under the bar. Be sure to push up and spread the bar
-Stand up and you’ve completed the snatch from the power position

This is a great movement to develop strong positions and good movement patterns.
