Start your fitness journey before the holiday eating and drinking season starts

 In General, StoneAgeFuel

We pointed out in a recent blog that most people tend to gain weight in the winter—5 to 7 lb. on average. We looked at potential biological and fitness reasons why this is the case—Vitamin D, melatonin and Thrifty Gene Theory

But we can’t discount the most common-sensical reason of all:

The holiday season in all its overeating glory!

In fact, people like to use the holiday season—their countless Christmas parties and functions, family vacations, holiday food prep and, of course, shopping

As a perfect excuse to put off embarking on a fitness regime during this crazy time of year.

So they do the cliche thing and make it their New Year’s resolution to get fit (in other words, they procrastinate prioritizing fitness for another couple months).

There’s no reason this has to be the case this year.

There’s no reason you have to procrastinate until 2018.

There’s no reason you can’t find and devote three or four hours in your week maximum to get your fitness on track now in the month-and-a-half leading up to Christmas this year.

Imagine how good you’ll feel after Christmas when you’re already a step ahead of where you thought you would be?

The hardest part is just taking that first step.

If you’re reading this, it’s likely you have been lurking on our website or social media pages for days, or even weeks, wondering if you should take the plunge.

But something has been stopping you from contacting us.

Maybe it’s fear—fear of the unknown?

To eliminate the mysterious unknown, here’s how it’ll play out:

FIRST:  Contact us

A coach will get back to you within 24 hours.

You can chat via e-mail or the phone (775-827-2533), Facebook Messenger or hit us up on the DM on Instagram to set up a time that works for you both for a one-on-one introductory session.

SECOND: Show up and walk through the doors

You will sit down and talk to the coach—about your goals, your intentions, why you’re there, what you’re looking for

Your fitness and injury history, where you see yourself in five years (the conversation will flow however it may).

We will not make you stand on a scale and weigh you in public, or measure your waist and humiliate you (unless you want to be weighed and measured).

And we will not put you through the hardest, scariest workout of your life and leave you unable to walk the next day.

All we are trying to establish on the first day is if we’re a good fit for you, and you for us.

The only thing we ask for on your part is honesty and a willingness to be real and vulnerable.

Tell us what’s going on, and why you’re really there, so we can legitimately help you achieve whatever it is you’re hoping to.

THIRD: Begin personal training

If we’re a good fit, we’ll get you going with one-on-one personal training with your coach, and before you know it you’ll be more fit than you ever imagined you could be.

But we’ll worry about this part after you get through step one and step two: Contact us and show up.

Make this Christmas season jollier than ever by taking your health and fitness into your own hands now, not in January 2018.
